USN 1945-1967 Thoroughly enjoyed your recountings. While you were entering into wedded bliss, 21 SEP 63, I was traversing the Isthmus of Panama aboard USS GLACIER (AGB-4) on my second cruise to McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Our son's retired USAF (forget the year), and spent a tour at Hahn. He, too, thought it a great place.

Hahn AB was my first assignment following Tech School. I was there Mar 61-Mar 64. Worked at the old Mace missile sites for 18 months then on main base Hahn for the rest of my tour. Really enjoyed it. I was single and hung out in the town of Kasselen ( ot spelled right I'm sure). We had a Mace site near it and there was a Army Nike site there also. Really enjoy you web page. Thanks for working so hard.

I too am with the TLCB, Charter member I might add. Did SEA time at U-Tapao with 307MMS in Weapons Loading. Had a GREAT time once I found out the "natives" were friendly! I too was at Moody. Got there Sept. 75 while it was still ATC. Wasn't really that bad for me. Had a good job in weapons load training (Bldg. 658) Met my wife (she's from PA., worked with her brother). Sorry your family had such bad experiences there. We still visit occasionally with friends who remain. You have a very nice web sit I wanted to go to the reunion in D.C., but work got in the way. Hopefully we can cross paths at a future reunion, if not before.

I am currently reviewing your military career and am enjoying it. It brings back memories of my 20 years, 11 months and 26 days. I really need to put them in writing so my kids will someday know what their dad did. I remember when they tested us at Lac land for languages. I do believe the test I was given was Chinese, but who knows after all of this time. I obviously did not impress them too much with my potential as I wound up being in fixed, heavy ground, and light, mobile radar.

Thanks for visiting my site. You have a really nice site. Did you fly the F-106? I was in the Infantry and also served in Armor. I preferred the Infantry but if you want to make a statement there is no better way than 62 tons of homogenous steel. The Abrams is a tremendous tank and far ahead of anything the other side has. Its downside is maintenance. Naturally.
